Orange Juice…
You’ve most likely heard since you were a child that oranges are an important part of a healthy, balanced diet.
Oranges are lovely fruit that is healthy, tasty, and cheap to get, they originated around 4000 B.C in southeast Asia. Orange is a fruit of the Citrus, Citrus sinensis. Citrus sinensis is known as sweet orange while Citrus Aurantium is known as bitter orange. Oranges are one of the largest citrus fruit in the world which comprise about 60% of the total citrus production in the world. Everything about orange is useful, its peel can be used in making teas and candies.
Oranges are one of the most popular fruits in the world with over 600 varieties worldwide. They are rich in vitamin C, choline, potassium, and dietary fiber. Vitamin C helps to boost our immune system and also protects the inside and outside of our body cells from damages, one orange provides approximately 92% of the recommended daily amount of vitamin C. The fiber helps in controlling blood sugar levels, reducing Hugh’s cholesterol levels, etc.
Now let’s talk about Orange juice…
Orange juice is considered one of the healthiest beverages because of its health benefits such as detoxifying the body, reducing inflammation, helping to lower cholesterol levels, helping to control blood sugar levels, boosting the immune system, etc.
Making Orange juice is easy, it just depends on the method you decide to use.
- Manual method; Rinse the orange under running water, clean it with a kitchen tissue. Cut the fruit into halves, remove the seeds then squeeze the orange over a glass to extract the juice. This method could be stressful and cannot be used for a large portion of the orange.
- Making use of a juicer; Rinse the orange under running water, clean it with a kitchen tissue. Cut the orange into halves then press the halved orange onto a circulating reamer. Then you have your orange juice.
